Philip DV Dasalla, head of the Network Customer Access and Relations at NGCP, said at a forum that CASURECO III was disconnected from the transmission system at 12 noon Tuesday. Reconnection will depend on whether the electricity cooperative or EC can make partial payments or otherwise get a reprieve on its debt payments.
CASURECO apparently owes P102 million, mostly from major supplier San Miguel Energy Corp., according to the National Electrification Administration.
There are four electric cooperatives providing power to Camarines Sur: CASURECO I (based in Libmanan town), CASURECO II (based in Del Rosario, Naga City), CASURECO III (based in San Isidro, Iriga City), and CAMARINES SUR IV (based in Talojongon, Tigaon, Camarines Sur).
