Solon’s aunt shot dead

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines—An aunt of Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Neri Colmenares was shot and killed by three unidentified suspects at 3 p.m. Saturday in La Castellana, Negros Occidental.

Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, identified the victim as Delia Jimenez Colmenares, 54.

Colmenares’ daughter Ma. Famela, 19, and son Antonio Jose, 28, were wounded. The two are being treated for gunshot wounds in a private hospital in Bacolod City.

Initial police investigation showed the three suspects wore black shirts.

Lirazan said they were looking at robbery as the motive for the incident.-Carla Gomez, Inquirer Visayas
