Next time you think of hacking a friend’s Facebook account, whether as a prank or for kicks, think twice.
A man killed his cousin in Navotas City on Sunday morning after learning that the victim had hacked his account on the social networking site.
Rafael Crusada, 22, was arrested after he shot Ariel Iwayan, 20, following an argument.
According to police reports, the incident happened at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday in the house the two shared on Bacog Street in Barangay (village) Daang-Hari.
Investigation showed that before the shooting, an angry Crusada accused Iwayan of hacking and tinkering with his Facebook account.
The two argued until Crusada took out a .38-cal. firearm and shot Iwayan at close range. The bullets hit the victim in the nape, killing him on the spot.
The suspect fled the house immediately afterward, bringing along the gun he used to shoot his cousin. He was later arrested during a follow-up operation.
Investigators who went to the crime scene found two slugs and a plastic sachet containing a still unidentified substance.
Police reports showed that the suspect threw the gun into the waters off Navotas City, together with a bolo, but the police managed to recover both items.
The police are now preparing charges against the suspect.
