Hall of justice in Zamboanga City remains closed for inspection

MANILA, Philippines—Despite the government’s declaration that conflict in Zamboanga City is over, its hall of justice remains closed although judges will inspect the facility and do a headcout of court personnel Monday.

Court Administrator Midas Marquez said “judges are not yet cleared to go except to check the Hall of Justice for a while under escort.”

He said the City Library was the court’s temporary office to address inquiries from litigants.

“Hall of Justice doesn’t have electricity yet. Judges will inspect the hall of justice today and will submit a report thereafter. Judges are also doing a headcount of personnel. Baka may mga missing [There might be some missing],” he said in a text message to reporters.
