Meat shop worker found dead

A 33-YEAR-OLD man was found dead in a secluded area in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday morning.

Rolly Lederos, a worker of Pearl Meat Shop in Barangay Mactan and a resident of Maghaway, Talisay City, was on his   knees  with one end of  a shoelace looped around his neck, and the other end tied to a   tree branch.

Police believe the victim was killed at midnight. He was found around 7:00 a.m. yesterday in Sitio Soong 1 by a certain Edmund Igot, who was answering  nature’s call.

Igot noticed that the victim was not moving so he went closer. He was surprised to see the shoe lace tied  around the neck so he immediately informed barangay tanods, who called the police.

Investigators found wounds on the victim’s knees and feet. This could indicate that he was dragged to the area, police said. A mark was also found in his neck, leading probers to believe that he was strangled to death.

The area where he was found had a shanty where  drug addicts reportedly gather to sniff shabu.

Caught stealing wires

TWO men were arrested for allegedly stealing electrical wires in downtown Cebu City early morning yesterday.

Roel Ylaya, 42, a resident of barangay Mabolo, Cebu City, and Nelson Sarnejo, 37, of barangay Talamban, Cebu City, were arrested by operatives of the “Cops on Motorcycles” on Osmeña Boulevard.
