TWO persons were killed in separate vehicular accidents Wednesday afternoon in Minglanilla town, southern Cebu and San Francisco in the Camotes group of islands.
Crisanta Ostria, 65, of barangay Santa Cruz, San Francisco Camotes died from a severe head injury after she was hit by a motorcycle driven by 22-year-old Michael Luzon.
Ostria was rushed to the Maningo District Hospital and was referred to a hospital in Cebu City but she died while she was being transported at the barangay Consuelo Wharf.
Luzon is temporarily detained in San Francisco Police Station.
In Minglanilla, 25-year-old Jimmar Valle Cata-ag of Belmont Village died in a head-on collission with another motorcycle at a blind curve in sitio Tingkoro, barangay Upper Pakigne past 3 p.m.
Police said that Cata-ag, a helper of SPO3 Proculo Ando of Minglanilla, was sent on an errand to barangay Upper Pakigne when he met the accident. The driver of the other motorcycle, 20-year-old Isidro Sanchez of barangay Tubod, encroached on the other lane.
The impact threw Cata-ag who hit his head on a concrete electrical post.
Sanchez is detained in the Minglanilla Police Station./CORRESPONDENT CHRISTINE EMILY L. PANTALEON
