CORDOVA town will soon have a 25-bed public hospital if a bill submitted in Congress will be approved.
Rep. Gabriel Luis Quisumbing (Cebu 6th district) submitted the House Bill 5200 recently seeking for a public hospital for the “delivery of effective and affordable medical care and services to the people” which is a primary obligation of the government.
Quisumbing said Cordova town might have a Municipal Health Office but the establishment of a hospital would ease the need of indigent constituents seeking affordable and quality medical care.
Quisumbing said most of Cordova town’s constitutents only earn a minimum wage and suffer from poverty.
“It is also envisioned to provide them a medical facility within the accessible distance equipped with the basic life-saving equipment and professional expertise,” he said.
