Estrada blasts COA, media, senators over pork controversy
MANILA, Philippines – Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada stood up on the floor on Wednesday to tell the “untold” story of legislators’ priority development assistance fund (PDAF) known as “pork barrel” funds.
Estrada said he rose on the floor “to tell the untold story of PDAF well as to expose the biases and prejudices against the opposition of certain opposition like the media, the Commission on Audit, Department of Budget and Management and even the Senate blue ribbon committee.”
The blue ribbon committee investigating the scam is being headed by Senator Teofisto Guingona III, an administration ally.
“Mr President, we have been singled out…” Estrada lamented. “We have been vilified in the media. Even some of our colleagues here in the Senate have already passed judgment on us.”
“Sadly, in the eyes of the Filipino people, we have already been marked as the worst thieves.”
