MANILA, Philippines — A new low pressure area was spotted near Oriental Mindoro midday Wednesday, the state weather bureau said.
The LPA was last observed 320 kilometers west of Oriental Mindoro, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms were forecast over western section of Southern Luzon and Western Visayas.
Moderate to occasionally heavy rains, meanwhile, were seen over Mindoro Provinces and Northern Palawan, including Coron Island which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
The southwest monsoon is also affecting Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas.
