President Aquino names 2 ex-senators to new posts
President Benigno Aquino III has named former senators Ramon Magsaysay Jr. and Wigberto Tañada chairmen of the boards of corporations under the United Coconut Planters Bank-Coconut Industry Investment Fund (UCPB-CIIF).
Magsaysay is the new chair of the UCPB-CIIF Oil Mills Group in San Pablo Manufacturing Inc., Southern Coconut Oil Mill and Legazpi Oil Co. Inc., while Tañada is chair of Granexport Manufacturing Corp., Cagayan de Oro Oil Co. and Ilagan Coconut Industries Inc.
Their appointments were announced on Sunday by deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte over government radio dzRB.
Other appointments to the boards of the companies under Magsaysay were Bienvenido Bautista and Ermilando Napa.
On the boards headed by Tañada, also appointed were Roberto Macasaet Jr. and Wilfredo Paras.
Valte also announced the appointment of two new members of the Energy Regulatory Commission—Alfredo Non and Gloria Victoria Yap-Taruc.

The President also appointed Abdusakur Tan and Yasmin Lao to the committee screening the nominees for officers in charge of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
