2 injured in Lapu shooting
Two men were wounded after they were shot Saturday evening in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.
Junrey Bascones, 37, of barangay Duljo Fatima, Cebu City and Dexter Esmero, 43, a tricycle driver from barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City were rushed to Lapu-Lapu City Hospital for gunshot wounds.
Bascones was walking at Sitio Carajay of barangay Gun-ob, when a man suddenly shot him. When Bascones ran, the gunman fired more shots, hitting the tricycle driver. /CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
COP ACCUSED of beating up man’
A police officer is accused of mauling a betting attendant or “masyador” near a cockpit or “tigbakayan” in sitio Ilang-Ilang, barangay Lagtang, Talisay City Sunday afternoon.
Denmar Bacalso, 32, of Tangke, Talisay City, went to the Talisay City Police and asked that the incident be recorded in their blotter..
He claimed that SPO4 Adolfo Morales, Bacalso mauled him and threatened him with more harm.
He claimed that he and the policeman made a wager on a cockfight. He then demanded payment from the policeman after his bet lost, but the suspect got angry and started beating him up. /CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
