The police are looking at drugs and revenge as the possible motives for the death of a couple who were shot as they were sleeping inside their house in Scarlet Ibaba Purok 4, Rodriguez Avenue in Parañaque City on Sunday evening.

Jesus Sembrano, 45, and his wife Amelia, 43, were asleep in bed at 7:30 p.m. when they were shot by a man who walked inside their house.

The Sembranos were rushed to Dr. Florencio V. Bernabe Sr. Memorial Hospital in Barangay (village) La Huerta where they were declared dead on arrival.

A spot report prepared by Chief Insp. Michael Chavez of the Parañaque police described the suspect as in his early 30s, of medium build, with fair complexion and a shaved head.

The victims’ other son, Jake, told the police that his father “was engaged in illegal drugs.”

“But [Jesus] was also an informant for the narcotics police. He may have been killed because of it or he may have wronged someone along the way,” Parañaque police chief Senior Supt. Ariel Andrade said.
