Read-along storytelling contest set

MANILA, Philippines—The Inquirer will hold a storytelling competition for students aged 10-12 during the 3rd Inquirer Read-Along Festival on Nov. 12 and 13 at the main lobby of Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay City.

With the theme “The Filipino Child and the Culture of Excellence,” this year’s contest is open to children aged 10-12 who are currently in school and have never won first place in any storytelling contest.

Those interested to join may download the rules, list of requirements and application forms on www.facebook.com/inqreadalong. Forms may be submitted to inqfestival@gmail.com until Sept. 30.

Elimination rounds will be held on Oct. 19 at the Inquirer office along Pasong Tamo Street in Makati City. The semifinals are set for Oct. 26.

Aside from medals and Guyito stuffed toys, the winners will receive cash prizes: first place, P10,000; second place, P5,000; and third place, P2,000.
