2 robbery suspects killed in Batangas
BATANGAS CITY, Philippines—Two motorcycle-riding gunmen who robbed a gasoline station in Sto. Tomas, Batangas, were killed in what the authorities said was a shootout with pursuing policemen on Friday night.
Superintendent Barnard Danie Dasugo, Sto. Tomas police chief, said the gunmen had fled with P1,500 after robbing the gas station in Barangay San Roque at 10 p.m. Friday. But a police patrol car happened by minutes after the robbery and employees of the gas station reported what had just happened.
The policemen gave chase but the robbers opened fire and eventually abandoned their motorcycle when they got to Tanauan City, where the shootout continued and the two were killed, Dasugo said.
The two robbers had yet to be identified, Dasugo said.
