AMBL nips MP Customs to improve record to 4-2
THE Allan Lim-led AMBL Enterprises & Advertising plugged the four-game win streak of league-leader MP Customs with a close, 102-97 victory Wednesday night to hike its win-loss record to 4-2 in the AMBL Basketball Cup-2013 at the Vicente Sotto Memorial gym.
AMBL led 26-25 in the opening quarter behind the hot shooting of Robert Abasolo and former SWU pointguard Michael Arias, but MP Customs responded with a 25-21 run in the second for a, 50-47 lead at the half.
In the 3rd period, AMBL unloaded a 33-24 bomb to grab a 6-point advantage, 80-74, heading to the final quarter where it continuously parried every rally mounted by MP Customs for the five-point victory.
Robert Abasolo and Lito Navarro led AMBL with a game-high 39 and 19 points, respectively while four other teammates added double-figures each including Michael Arias (12), Aikan Cabañero (10), Rocky Bacalso (10) and Allan Lim (10).
Former PBA mainstays Lou Regidor and Montoy Singson paced MP Customs with 32 and 19 points, respectively. Despite the loss, MP Customs remains on top of the leaderboard with a 4-1 win-loss card.
In the other game, Blessel Enterprises routed GLYN Construction, 122-72, for its 3rd win in five games (3-2), while the latter remained in the cellar with a no-win card.
Article continues after this advertisementFrankie Lastimoso, Rey Maraño and Erwin Ferrer powered Blessel with 16 points each while former PBA cager Gilbert Demape and Rick Arias paced GLYN Construction with 21 and 12 points, respectively.
