Magpale receives local gov’t personality award

AN organization of travel and tourism professionals has conferred on Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale the 23rd Skal Tourism Personality Award for the Local Government category.

Skal International-Makati Chapter presented the local government personality of the year award to Magpale last Sept. 5 during their 32nd anniversary held at the New World Hotel in Manila.

Magpale was awarded for her contributions in developing and improving various tourism destinations and projects in Cebu.

She has also championed the cause of women and children and is also a strong advocate against human trafficking and cybersex involving minors.

“For the past five years (starting when I was still a provincial board member representing the 5th district), I have seen how countryside tourism has grown in great strides. The provincial government is there to help,” Magpale said.

Magpale has headed the Committee on Tourism and International Affairs and the Committee on Women and Children since she was a provincial board member.
