MANILA, Philippines–The Makati court handling the serious illegal detention case against Janet Lim-Napoles will push through with her arraignment on Monday, Sept. 23.

This was the order issued by Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150 judge Elmo Alameda on Friday afternoon, in resolving the motion to defer arraignment filed by Napoles’ counsel on Sept. 18.

Alameda, in a one-page decision, said he found “no compelling reason to defer the arraignment” of Napoles.

In the same order, Alameda also denied a motion for reconsideration which Napoles’ camp filed, which sought to reverse Alameda’s Sept. 13 decision to junk their plea for a “bill of particulars.”
