HLY-Friends, Park n’ Go to dispute Power 40 hoops title

TEAM HLY-Friends of Flor Yosores dismantled Water Market of Vez Eleguin, 133-104, Tuesday night to advance to the finals of the Power Forty President’s Cup-2013 basketball tournament at the Emilio Jaca Memorial gym in Inayawan.

In the winner-take-all final this Tuesday, HLY-Friends will play Park n’ Go of Romy Rama which crushed AMBL Enterprises & Advertising of businessman Allan Lim, 104-95.

HLY-Friends led 32-22 in the first period then tore the game apart after unloading a 34-14 bomb in the second to grab a huge 71-36 advantage at the turn and never looked back for the 29-point win.

Wewe Cabrera and Flor Yosores led Friends with a game-high 40 and 30 points, respectively while Joel Jaca and Cards Vernaiz paced Water Market with 23 and 19 markers.

In the main game, Park n’ Go trailed 23-36 in the opening quarter and 44-47, at halftime before outscoring AMBL 27-18 in the third to grab a 71-65 at the end of the penultimate canto.

In the fourth, the Breadmakers outscored their rivals, 33-30 for the nine-point win.

Jingjing Rama led the Breadmakers with 21 points spiked by five trifectas while Robert Abasolo fired a game-high 41 points for AMBL.
