Ex-varsity players trounce E-League All-Stars

/ 09:54 AM September 17, 2013

THE CEBU Drillers, a team composed of former varsity players, prevailed over the E-League All-Stars, 77-70, last Sunday in the 2013 E-League for Basketball All-Star Game at the City Sports-Club Cebu Gym.

The Drillers proved to be the steadier team, thwarting the E-League All-Stars’ endgame rally to win the goodwill match.

Keith Virtucio, who had stints with the University of Southern Philippines and the University of the Visayas (UV), and ex-Southwestern University Cobra Merbien Dedace paced the Drillers with 19 points each. Alwin Aguirre, a former UV Green Lancer, added 10 points.
