MANILA, Philippines—Tropical depression “Odette” moved to Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, early Tuesday, according to the state weather bureau.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (pagasa) said the cyclone continued to move west and was last spotted 830 kilometers east of Tuguegarao, packing sustained winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour.
Moderate to heavy rains are seen within its 300-kilometer diameter. Moreover, Odette will enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat) that is affecting Central and southern Luzon and the Visayas.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said, adding that Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will prevail over Luzon, and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to south with slight to moderate seas.
