Explosion hits Cinema 1 of SM City Davao

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — An explosion occurred inside the Cinema 1 of SM Ecoland here at around 9 p.m. Monday.

No one was reported hurt.

Designer Dodjie Batu, who was inside the Cinema 1 when the explosion happened, said there were about only 10 persons inside the theater during the blast.

“It was loud and I felt it in my face, like it blew my hair,” Batu said.

“Saw debris flew,” he said, adding that he and the other moviegoers calmly went out of the cinema.

It was still not clear what caused the explosion.
