The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) and the University of San Carlos (USC) will revive its rivalry as they meet for the first time this season in the tertiary football competition of the Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation Inc. today at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The two faced each other in last season’s finals with USJ-R wresting the title from USC, who was the defending champion then.
The Warriors currently lead this season’s standings with nine points as they have not dropped any of their three games so far.
USJ-R trails them in second place with seven points after ending its match against the University of Cebu (UC) in a scoreless draw last week.
Other matches will have Don Bosco College (DBC) hoping to finally barge into the win column against the University of the Visayas (UV).
While DBC is languishing in the cellar, UV is up a notch with one win equivalent to three points.
The remaining tertiary match will see UC going up against University of Southern Philippines-Foundation(USP-F).
Prior to the tertiary matches, one match in the sec ondary division will be played pitting USC versus USP-F.
