Hoopers lead Picpa basketball

TEAM Hoopers bucked the absence of skipper Yoly Meso and nailed its fourth straight win by trouncing the PICPA Wildcats of Rainer Morra, 73-65, Saturday night in the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) 2013 basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.

Hoopers trailed, 15-16 in the 1st canto but rallied hard in the 2nd to grab the lead at halftime, 33-25 and never relinquished its advantage until the buzzer.

Dondon Santiago and Lito Ortiz paced Hoopers with 24 and 13 points, respectively, while Bienson Romero paced the Wildcats with 22 markers.

In the other game, the PICPA Snipers routed PICPA Intangibles, 78-56, for its 3rd win in five games, while the latter fell to 1-4.

FEATURED STORIES

Jacon Bonsucan and Alvin Zabala led the Snipers with 23 and 17 points while Karl Leyson and Carlo paced Intangibles with 20 and 17 markers.

In the main game, PICPA Bulls nailed its first win after trouncing PICPA Phoenix, 60-51 with Edlin Endrina and Art Flores scoring 15 and 13 points, respectively. Jake Piape paced Phoenix with 14.
