MANILA, Philippines – The camp of Janet Lim-Napoles submitted Friday a reply affidavit to the perjury case they filed against whistle-blower Benhur K. Luy before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office, according to Radyo Inquirer 990AM.
Manila Assistant City Prosecutor Philger Noel Inovejas said Napoles insisted in the affidavit that Luy and the other accused committed perjury, it said.
Among the respondents were Luy’s parents Arturo and Gertrudes, and siblings Arthur and Anabelle, and Merlina Sunas, whom Napoles allegedly designated as one of the presidents of her many fake nongovernment organizations (NGOs).
Napoles is detained at Fort Santo Domingo in Santa Rosa, Laguna province after she and her brother and fugitive Reynald Lim were charged with serious illegal detention for the alleged abduction of Luy.
Napoles, the center of the P10 billion Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel scam, swore before the notary public in Laguna to authenticate her reply affidavit.
The fiscal, however, waived the right of Luy’s father and brother, Arturo and Arthur Luy, to submit a counter affidavit after failing to show up.
The perjury case stemmed from the Luy and Sunas’ claims that Napoles allegedly kidnapped Benhur Luy and used bogus NGOs as conduits to channel Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), or pork barrel funds, of lawmakers to ghost livelihood projects.
