WITH two new recruits on board, the Air21 Express hope to revive their sagging playoffs bid when they play the also struggling Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters in today’s first game of the 38th PBA Governors’ Cup at the PhilSports Arena.
New acquisitions Asi Taulava and Joseph Yeo will be suiting up for the Express, who are in dire need of a win.
With only three games left in the single round elimination, the Express are mired at the bottom of the standings with a 1-5 (win-loss) card.
The Express have lost their last four games and are hoping that Taulava and Yeo could turn things around for them.
Air21 acquired Taulava from the Meralco Bolts in favor of Mike Cortez. Yeo’s transfer was only sealed last Thursday in a deal that saw the Express sending Mark Isip to the Blaze Boosters.
The Texters are also looking to end their two-game slump. Talk ‘N Text has the same record with the Barangay Ginebra Kings at 2-4, good for a tie for the eighth and ninth spots.
In the main game, Petron try to sustain its hot streak when it plays the Alaska Aces.
Petron is currently the hottest team in the league owing to their six-game winning streak. The team leads the team standings with a 6-1 slate.
