DOMINIC Gotiong’s four-man team scored 257 points to rule the 16th Coral Tee held at Club Filipino Incorporada de Cebu in Pulangyuta, Danao City over the weekend.
Gotiong made back-to-back rounds of 42 points in the modified stableford scoring system to lead his team’s title run while Kenneth Robin, scored 47 and 50 points despite playing with only two thirds of his handicap being a guest. Rounding up the team’s output is Romeo Aguilon who fired rounds of 32 and 44.
Robin also bagged the lowest net individual award with his 97. The team had 121 points on opening day and 136 on the second for the 257 aggregate. Edwin Robin’s scores did not count in the four-to-play, three-to-count event.
The stableford scoring system awards six points for a double eagle, five for an ace, four for an eagle, three for a birdie, two for par and one for bogey.
DIVISION A
The team of Baltaire Balagauan, Andrew Cañete, Gibson Balagauan and Russel Reyes won Division A via countback with rounds of 114 and 116 for a 230 total, the same score of second placers Jovi Neri, C. Saavedra, Vince Gumapac and Gen Nagai who had back-to-back rounds of 115.
Nagai earned the individual lowest gross award with his four over par 76 points.
The Division B title went to Chandran Rama, Tata Callora, Lor Alburo and Eric Sendrijas (241) while runner up honors went to the quartet of Efren Palugod, Loloy Sabuga, Rolando Alberto and Bernie Dablio (234).
Rama teamed up with Kel Sorensen, Raymund Elefante and Connor Canlas in ruling Division C with 219 points beating Palugod’s other team with Tony Amor, Nestor Deona and F. Perez as guests with their 209 effort.
Special prizes went to Kevin Cimafranca and Andrew Cañete for scoring an eagle in par 4 holes no. 9 and no. 13, respectively. /Correspondent Lou Coloyan
