EX-DETAINEE GUNNED DOWN

A 25-YEAR-OLD man previously jailed for illegal drug charges was shot dead in barangay Day-as in Cordova town off Mactan Island, Cebu.

Alex Migabon, a resident of barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu, was able to post bail when charged with possession of illegal drugs two months ago.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the attack.

Police said Migabon was walking along the road Wednesday dawn when he was attacked.

ARMED BROTHERS NABBED

POLICE nabbed two brothers who were caught in possession of firearms in barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City.

Wenceslao Gitutu-a, 21, and his 17-year-old brother were caught carrying .357 revolvers at the back of the St. Joseph Parish church past 1 p.m. yesterday.

Police rushed to the area after receiving reports that two men fired guns.

Responding policemen chanced upon the two brothers and arrested them.

When frisked, Wenceslao yielded a .357 revolver with two bullets and an empty shell in its chamber.

A .357 revolver with six bullets and an empty shell was found in the 17-year-old boy’s keeping.

Wenceslao said they went to the area to look for a certain Jun whom he said mauled his brother and, failing to find him, fired shots into the air.

STOLEN BIKES RECOVERED

POLICE recovered four stolen motorcycles in barangay Mohon, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

Police also arrested 26-year-old Jesrich Villacorta Arradaza who was allegedly caught assembling parts of the stolen motorcycles in Tuesday’s operation.

The recovery of the motorcycles came after the arrest of Ybo Lastimosa.

Police said Lastimosa was involved not only in shooting incidents but also in motorcycle thefts. Last week, he was arrested for murder charges in barangay San Roque, Cebu City.
