2 KILLED IN CEBU CITY SHOOTINGS
TWO persons were killed and another one was injured in separate shooting incidents in Cebu City last Thursday.
Police identified the fatalities as Dominic Nuñez Paclipan and a certain Junior Tala.
Police said the assailant tailed Tala and shot the victim in the head while he was walking on Abellana Street in barangay Suba around 6 p.m.
In barangay Lorega-San Miguel, Paclipan, who was driving a motorcycle, stopped for traffic along M.J. Cuenco Avenue when a man shot him in the neck around 10 p.m.
The gunman fled toward Carreta cemetery.
In the third shooting incident, Ramil Mendez Bicar, was sitting by the road when he was shot in the shoulder allegedly by Gerald Mabatid.
Bicar was rushed by friends to the Cebu City Medical Center.
The assailant fled after the attack.

BULI FALLS ON MANDAUE HOUSE
A HOUSE was damaged when a palm tree locally called buli fell on a house in barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City, last Thursday afternoon.
A toppled mango tree also damaged a house in a separate incident in barangay Casuntingan yesterday morning.
Luckily, no one was hurt in the two incidents.
Inocencia Conde, 56, said she was washing clothes outside her house when the palm tree fell on her house in sitio Galaxy past 2 p.m.
Another house also owned by Conde but being rented by six persons was also damaged.
Richand Angcon, a member of the Accident Control and Emergency Rescue Team, said the 30-year-old, 33-feet tree fell because of its rotten stem.
Tan said the barangay will write Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes to allow them to cut the remaining four buli trees in the barangay.
In sitio Yukra, a 50-year-old mango tree damaged the house of Crisin Hoy.

TABUNOK MARKET ROW
TENSION flared up yesterday when members of the Ecological Solid Waste Management in Talisay City seized several goods sold by ambulant vendors.
Edwin Nierves, head of the team, was hit with an avocado thrown by the vendors.
The goods were displayed at the side of the road near the Tabunok Public Market, which is a violation of a city ordinance, said Nierves.
Nierves said vendors at the Tabunok market will be transferred to a new market in barangay Lagtang, a moved opposed by the vendors.
Nora Carlos said they will not transfer to the new market for security reasons. She said the new market is built near a river, which is prone to flood.
Arturo Bas, the city’s public information officer, said the Tabunok public market will be closed on Monday.
Supt. Eddie Recamara, chief of the Talisay police, said two platoons from the Cebu Provincial Police Office will be deployed when the Tabunok market will be closed. CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
