IT cannot be denied that more Cebuanos are now becoming more aware of art.

And speaking of art, people can easily think of Jon Gotiong and Maris Holopainen’s Qube Gallery.

On Sept. 20 to 23, Qube Gallery at The Henry Hotel in Banilad, Cebu City will join in celebrating the 5th year of the famed ManilArt fair, playing host to over 30 art galleries from all over the country and exhibiting works from a myriad of well-loved, respected and nationally-renowned Filipino visual artists.

The ManilArt Caravan’s mission of promoting Filipino national culture and arts locally, as well as on a global scale, has included Qube Gallery in Cebu City to be its first-ever destination outside the nation’s capital.

Though Qube Gallery’s primary goal is to reinforce awareness of the Visayas-Mindanao art scene, the efforts of Jon Gotiong and Maris Holopainen to bring the ManilArt Caravan to Cebu hopes to inspire more local artists and art lovers and encourage them to elevate their standards in art production and appreciation.

Dubbed as Asia’s hottest art fair, ManilArt is known to merge their drive to strengthen the awareness of and appreciation for Philippine visual arts with other disciplines through lectures, workshops and demos, and the ManilArt Caravan exhibit at Qube Gallery will bring about the beginning of a new phase of artistic consciousness in Cebu.
