USJ-R booters LOG SECOND victory

DEFENDING champion University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) took over the top spot after posting its second win yesterday in the tertiary football competition of the Cesafi at the Cebu City Sports Center.

The Jaguars blanked the University of the Visayas (UV), 3-0, to snatch the top spot from the University of San Carlos (USC), whose match against the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) yesterday was cancelled.

Tournament director Francis Ramirez said the match has been rescheduled to today because the linesman failed to show up on time due to a conflict of schedule.

University of Cebu (UC), on the other hand, finally barged into the win column with a 5-0 routing of Don Bosco College (DBC). /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
