CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and its private business and operating partner, Manila North Tollways Corp., incurred minimal income loss when they decided to close the approach of the Pasig-Portrero bridge of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) starting Aug. 19 for safety reasons.
“Our finance [department] is still collating data on the income impact. So far, we observe that it will be minimal,” said lawyer Arnel Casanova, BCDA president and chief executive officer, on Monday.
No data were immediately available on the impact of the SCTEx section’s closure on the business sector.
The BCDA reopened the Clark-Porac section on Sept. 10 to light vehicles, said Joshua Bingcang, SCTEx services manager of the BCDA, in a statement.
