A suspected gang leader and two others were gunned down in what was suspected to be a disagreement over drugs on Sunday afternoon in Novaliches, Quezon City.

Tony Tua was killed along with his companions Mohamed Eto, 30, and Bernard Apostel, 36, on Interior Masaya Street in Barangay (village) Gulod. Another man, Enram Panayaman, 40, was injured and rushed to Bernardino Hospital.

Novaliches station commander Supt. Norberto Babagay said Tua was believed to be the leader of a gang dealing in drugs in the neighborhood.

Two groups, believed to be led by Tua and the other by a certain Tahir, reportedly sell methamphetamine hydrochloride, or “shabu,” in the community.

Panayaman told police investigators that there were two men involved in the shooting. One was identified as Nasir Duiandel, a known associate of Tahir.

Initial investigation showed that Panayaman and Tua were inside the latter’s house when they heard gunfire erupt outside.

When they went outside, they saw Apostel sprawled dead on the ground. Seconds later, Tua and Panayaman were also shot.

Tua died on the spot while Panayaman survived. On the other hand, Eto was also shot dead by the fleeing suspects as the victim was walking at the corner of Interior Masaya and Florentino Streets.

Babagay learned that Tahir’s group had allegedly accused Tua’s group of cooperating with the police.
