Flying school celebrates ‘Linggo ng Wika’
THE Philippine State College of Aeronautics (Philsca) joined the 75th anniversary celebration of the “Linggo ng Wika” last Aug. 30.
Students wearing colorful native costumes impressed the audience and school officials as they presented their talent in cultural dancing at the school campus at the Mactan Air Base, Lapu-Lapu City.
On the same occasion, campus director Dr. Nonadel Soriano announced that the school is planning to put up a branch in northern Cebu.
She said Cebu 4th district Rep. Benhur Salimbangon invited them to establish a campus in his district like that of Cebu Normal University and the Cebu Technological University.
Soriano said they will need to thresh out the details with the congressman as well as with the local government unit concerned.
She said they have the capability needed for the school’s expansion and foresees no problem with the flight training as Bantayan has a landing strip. “We are very happy to be invited there. Rest assured we will work it out and help generate additional jobs,” Soriano said.
