SHS-ADC shocks USPF

THE GIRLS’ volleyball squad of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) took down the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) in straight sets in the 2013 Cesafi volleyball tournament yesterday at the University of San Carlos gym.

Even with their neophyte status in this tournament, the belles of SHS-AdC made a statement in beating the former longtime champions, 28-26, 25-18.

SHS-AdC now stands in second place with a 2-1 (win-loss) record, just slightly behind the University of San Carlos (USC).

USC kept its record unblemished yesterday after defeating the University of Cebu, 25-15, 25-19 for its third win in a row.

In the boys’ division, the defending champion University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) also notched its third straight victory beating USP-F, 25-16, 25-14.

USC remains within striking distance of the league-leaders in the standings as it beat Don Bosco, 25-22, 8-25, 25-14, for its third win against a lone loss.

In the lone game in the men’s division, UC swept the Cebu Institute of Technology-University, 25-22, 25-17, 25-22. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
