STORE COLLECTOR KILLED

A 45-YEAR-OLD appliance store collector was shot dead while walking home Thursday evening in barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City.

Ricardo Bacaling was with his eight-year-old son during the attack. The boy was unharmed.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the attack.

FISHERMAN NABBED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE

A FISHERMAN in Alegria town, southwest Cebu was caught in the act allegedly sexually molesting his 17-year-old neighbor who is suffering from Down Syndrome.

Fedirico Labrado, 53, were apprehended by the boy’s father who saw the alleged abuse, police said.

Police said the father had just arrived home when he saw the suspect in his house molesting the boy.

The father shouted at the suspect, who ran out of the house naked, said SPO1 Geraldine Capangpangan, head of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk of the Alegria police.

The suspect was cornered in his house and was later turned over to the police.

MAN NABBED for DRUGS

POLICE arrested a 30-year-old man in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Tisa, Cebu City last Thursday afternoon.

Glenn Parba was arrested by operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Force after he allegedly sold a pack of suspected shabu worth P17,000 to a policeman who acted as poseur-buyer.

Police said Parba’s brother Ritchie was also arrested a few weeks ago for illegal drugs.

Police said a big pack and three medium packs believed to contain shabu and P10,000 cash were recovered from Glenn’s possession.

2 MEN ARRESTED FOR ‘MASIAO’

TWO men were arrested on suspicions that they are involved in illegal gambling activities in barangay Tubli, Moalboal town, southern Cebu.

Police said Eleuterio Dunughu Flores, 68, and Juanito Badjao Dupio, 48, were caught carrying illegal gambling paraphernalia last Thursday night.

Cash worth P58,000 was also recovered from the two men who were suspected to be financiers of the illegal numbers game locally known as masiao, said Supt. Fermin Armendarez of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas.
