MANILA, Philippines – The body of a girl, who might have been raped, was found on a vacant lot in Quezon City Friday morning, police said.
The body was spotted by Priscilla Garcia, a maid who was walking her employer’s dog at around 6 a.m., on the lot between Philamlife Townhomes and the campus of the Philippine Women’s University-Jose Abad Santos Memorial School along the southbound lane of Edsa.
Inspector Elmer Monsalve of the Quezon City Police District’s homicide investigation unit said the girl’s identity has yet to be determined.
The victim was described to be between 15-16 years old, of slim built, fair skinned, 5 feet in height and wearing a dark blue t-shirt. The body was naked from the waist down but police found a pair of shorts nearby.
Monsalve said the teen was found with a large slab of concrete on her head while the rest of her body was covered with a white blanket, which might have been used to kill her.
More than one person would have been needed to lift the concrete slab, he added.
Monsalve also said plastic bags containing rugby were found around the body, indicating that the girl might have been raped by a group of “rugby boys.”
He said that the area where the girl was found was usually a hangout of boys who sniff the adhesive to get high.
Monsalve said the rugby boys would be rounded up in the hope of capturing the suspects.
