Rains, cloudy skies on metro, Visayas, Mindanao due to ITCZ—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines—Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao, which are affected by an intertropical convergence zone, will experience rains, the state weather bureau said Friday.

The ITCZ is a merging of winds from the northern and southern hemispheres.

Palawan and the regions of Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga and Davao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Based on Pagasa’s extended weather outlook, isolated rains and thunderstorms are also expected in Metro Manila over the weekend.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to east will prevail over Luzon and coming from the south to southeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
