A total of 814 indigent residents were able to avail of the free medical services during an outreach mission conducted by Kapwa Ko, Mahal Ko Foundation Inc. – Cebu at Anahawan Elementary School in Bato, southern Leyte last Aug. 31.
Services offered were excision of cyst, tooth extraction, eye refraction and dispensing of eyeglasses and diagnostic procedures like blood typing, random blood sugar testing, hematocrit and hemoglobin determination and hepatitis B screening.
Full dose of antibiotics were given to the patients after undergoing cyst excision and tooth extraction.
The activity was initiated by couple Jonathan and Melinda Suico to help the indigent residents from the different barangays in their hometown.
It was sponsored by Suico poultry farm, Econo-Medic Distributor and Pharmacy, Roble Shipping Lines and the local government unit of Bato.
The Kapwa team composed of surgeons, optometrists, dentists, nurses, med techs and support staff volunteered their time to help the Batohanons.
The whole day activity was also supported by Fr.
