A fast food restaurant in Valenzuela City lost nearly a hundred thousand pesos in earnings in a robbery discovered Wednesday morning.
Employees of a Jollibee outlet on McArthur Highway in Barangay (village) Marulas told police that they discovered the break-in around 6 a.m. as they were about to start the day’s operations.
They first noticed footprints in the serving area and later found their office equipment and supplies in disarray and the vault forced open.
The store reported the cash stolen from the vault to be about P96,700. Another compartment containing around P73,000 was found intact.
Investigators noted that the robbers might have entered the store through the back, where they found a stack of hollow blocks used to climb over a concrete wall.
A portion of the store’s ceiling was also pried open. Nathaniel R. Melican
