MANILA, Philippines – An intertropical convergence zone affecting Palawan and Visayas will bring light to moderate rains in those areas, the state weather bureau said Thursday.

The ITCZ or the merging of winds on the northern and southern hemispheres will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms in Mimaropa and the Visayas regions, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Based on Pagasa’s extended weather outlook , Metro Manila will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies until the weekend.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the southwest to southeast over the rest of the country, Pagasa said.

The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it added.
