MANILA, Philippines — It’s going to be sunny in the next few days with the country experiencing a break in the monsoon season, according to the state weather bureau.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday the ridge of a high-pressure area would be extending across Luzon, bringing fair weather over most parts of the country.
“The whole country will have generally fair weather aside from isolated rain showers or thunderstorms,” it said in an advisory.
Pagasa said light to moderate winds blowing from the northwest to northeast have been prevailing over Northern Luzon and light to moderate winds coming from the northeast to east would prevail over the rest of the country.
Coastal waters throughout the entire archipelago will be slight to moderate, according to Pagasa.
Based on Pagasa’s climate outlook, the southwest monsoon, or “hanging habagat,” will end in the last week of September up to first week of October.
October will see the transition to the northeast monsoon, “or hanging amihan,” which brings cold winds from China and Siberia.
