It’s not yet too late for an 86-year-old woman from Bulacan to experience life as a millionaire.
The octogenarian, a widow and mother of four, claimed Monday the P44-million jackpot prize at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) headquarters in Pasay City after she picked the correct number combination (17-09-42-29-34-36) for the 6/42 Lotto draw on Aug. 29.
She said she chose the numbers based on the birth dates of her children and grandchildren.
PCSO general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II said the winner, the owner of a small farm tilled by tenants, told him she started buying lotto tickets only three years ago.
“At my age, I have nothing to do at home. I was bored so I decided to play the lottery regularly,” Rojas II said, quoting the lucky bettor.
She told Roxas that she would share her winnings with her children and grandchildren and donate a portion to her church and its projects.
