Burglars take P100k from condo unit owner

More than P100,000 worth of valuables were stolen by still-unidentified men from the condominium unit of an advertising agent in Pasig City on Sunday night.

Rene Afable told the police that when he came home at 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, he found out that someone had forced open the door to his unit at Manggahan Village Condominium in Barangay (village) Manggahan. He said that he left home at 12:10 p.m. to attend Mass with a friend.

Among the valuables that were taken from his unit were two laptop computers worth around P30,000 each; a digital camera worth P5,000 and four wristwatches. He said that a backpack containing a credit card, his passport and other documents were also missing.

Chief Insp. Oscar Boyles, head of the Pasig police investigation unit, said that probers had taken samples of fingerprints found inside the victim’s house and would forward these to the Crime Laboratory for processing.

A follow-up operation was ongoing for the identification of the burglars, he added.—Kristine Felisse Mangunay
