11 hurt in another EDSA bus collision

MANILA, Philippines – Eleven people were injured when two buses figured in an accident along EDSA in Makati City early Monday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.

Laila Marcelo of MMDA-Metrobase said the incident transpired at the southbound lane of EDSA in Estrella, Makati City around 7 a.m., involving a Roval Bus and Golden Bee bus.

Marcelo said the wounded victims were taken to Ospital ng Makati.

A radio report quoted Roval bus driver Paulo Eduardo Sitchon as saying that the Golden Bee bus he was tailing suddenly stopped, causing him to hit its rear portion.

But Golden Bee bus driver Sonny Borja said he was dropping off his passengers when he was suddenly hit by the Roval bus.

Marcelo said the vehicles were taken off the area just few minutes after the incident, but the radio report said it still affected the flow of traffic in the area.
