Parajenog, Monjas shine in Naga Charter Day Run

VIRGINIA Parajenog and Bonifacio Monjas won in the 16-kilometer race of the Philippine National Red Cross-Sixth Naga City Charter Day Run that ended at the Baywalk of Naga City, southern Cebu yesterday.

Monjas crossed the finish line in 01:00.11 to take the men’s crown while Parajenog clocked 1:20.07 to win the women’s title.

Trailing Monjas in the 16k male side were Joey Wakan (1:05.04) and Joshua Canada (1:08.56). Senda Allanic (1:27.44) and Edna Herale (1:30.03) finished second and third, respectively, in the women’s side.

Jeniusel Borres topped the 8k male division with a time of 31:03 followed by Remmy Capablanca (32:31) and Keen Torrino (33:46). Caryl Jane Bercades lorded the 8k distaff side with a time of 42:27 followed by Carmel Sarador (44:22) and Susan Canarias (49:24).

Winning the 4k crowns were Kierlgie Emnace (14:15) and Mary Denzel Yonzon (19:42) The running event was handled by Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
