Last call for nomination to ARMM OIC positions

Interested parties have only until 5 p.m. today (Friday) to turn in their applications or nominations for the caretaker positions in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), the Department of the Interior and Local Government said.

Interior Secretary Jesse M. Robredo said there would be no extensions of the deadline for the submission of applications for the 26 officer in charge (OIC) positions. The OICs will assume office for 21 months before the midterm elections in 2013.

“Late and/or incomplete submissions will not be processed or screened,” he said in a statement.

Applicants are required to attach several required documents to their application forms, including clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation, barangay certification or clearance, and a Commission on Elections voter’s ID.

They are also required to issue a sworn statement attesting that they are facing no administrative, criminal or civil charges, or if they are, an executive summary of such charges or cases, together with supporting documents, must be filed.

As an autonomous unit, the region composed of Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, Sulu, Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur provinces has its own Cabinet officials, along with a governor and vice governor.
