AROUND P200,000 pesos was raised in yesterday’s “Run For Jack” running event at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).
A total of 1,500 runners joined the 5-kilometer fundraising run, which aimed to help former Cebu City councilor Sylvan “Jack” Jakosalem.
Jakosalem, also the former chief of the Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom), is currently hospitalized due to neurocysticercosis .
Proceeds of this race will be given to the family of Jakosalem to help meet his medical expenses.
“We were glad because we were able to raise P200,000,” said organizer Richard Osmeña. “Not bad for a two-week preparation. It turned out pretty good and we are very thankful for the huge support of our fellow Cebuanos.” /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
