AROUND 2,000 runners will be running for a cause today as they join the fund-raising “Run for Jack” event starting at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The event, spearheaded by the Cebu City Government and the Cebu City Sports Commission, aims to help former Cebu City councilor and Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) chief Sylvan “Jack” Jakosalem, who is currently hospitalized due to neurocysticercosis.
The 5k run will start with a warm-up exercise and zumba.
Proceeds of this race will be given to the family of Jakosalem to help meet his medical expenses. A benefit concert for Jakosalem was also held last night at The Outpost along Gorordo Avenue featuring several local bands. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
