Roads closed for Sunday’s Alay Lakad

ROADS will be closed tomorrow for the Alay Lakad Foundation’s walk for a cause, according to Cebu City Traffic Operations Management director Rafael Yap.

Yap said in a forum of the Association of Government Information Officers (AGIO) last Wednesday that the right portion of roads going to SM will be closed to traffic starting 5 a.m. until the walk is finished.

Road closure covers New Imus Road, Gen. Maxilom extension, A. Soriano Avenue and Kaohsiung Street.

The walk will start at 6 a.m. at corner M.J. Cuenco Avenue along New Imus Road and end at SM City Cebu North Parking area.

Around 100,000 people composed of students, government employees, and civic and religious group are expected to participate.

Alay Lakad Foundation executive director Steve Norman Tan said the activity will raise funds for the foundation’s college scholarship program and livelihood training for the out-of-school youth in Cebu City. “We are requesting each participant to donate P10 to help the youth,” Tan said. /CORRESPONDENT Christine Emily L.
