MANILA, Philippines—Janet Lim-Napoles will not be transferred Friday night to Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, the Philippine National Police said.

Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, PNP-Public Information Office chief, said authorities need time to prepare for Napoles’ transfer from the Makati City Jail to the police training camp in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

“We need to ensure that the place is adequately prepared and adequately secured. So in all likelihood, there will be no transfer of JLN [Janet Lim-Napoles] tonight,” Sindac said.

He made the announcement after the Makati Regional Trial Court granted Napoles’ plea to be brought to a safer detention facility, citing threats on her life.

Makati RTC Sheriff Carreon arrived at the Makati City Jail past 7 p.m. to deliver a copy of the court order.

“It’s normal,” Sindac told INQURIER.net in a phone interview to clarify that the transfer wouldn’t happen Friday night even as the court sheriff had served the transfer order.
